Realized“Light Nexus” vessel created for Vessel group show and curated by Anand Sheth. We're honored to be among twenty-seven artists and designers based in San Francisco. "Light Nexus" vessel was designed and crafted especially for the exhibit. The idea for the “Light Nexus” came from my fascination and exploration of vaults and curved light apertures in architecture. Vessel came into been as an intuitive yet precise exploration of the given narrative. Beginning with an elemental circle as the foundation, and representing completeness, I sculpted an inverted non-uniform sail vault to give initial form to my vessel. It served as base for intersecting curvilinear apertures, made to filter light and deforming the vessel’s edges at the top. The process continued with the softening and merging of overlapping openings, creating smooth, round transitions and a unique play of light and shadow, tested and iteratively refined through paper mock-ups in various light conditions. On a conceptual level, the vessel weaves order and chaos, light and shadow, blending refined and primal elements to craft an interplay of mass and opening. It draws parallels to my life journey and my approach to working with form and materiality, embodying both personal and artistic evolution.
